First of all, we must know the unique characteristics of the 5052 alloy aluminum plate:
 
(1) Strong reduction ability.
 
The affinity between aluminum and oxygen is very strong. Aluminum is easily oxidized in air to form dense and strong A1203 film with a film thickness of about 0.1μm. The melting point of A1203 is as high as 2050°C, which is much higher than the melting point of aluminum and alloy aluminum plate. One 600 °C). (3) The tendency of hot cracking is large.
 
Aluminum and alloy aluminum sheets have a coefficient of linear expansion that is approximately twice that of carbon steel and low alloy steel. The volume shrinkage of aluminum during solidification is large, up to 6.5%, and iron is 3.5%. Therefore, aluminum and alloy aluminum plates are prone to shrinkage, shrinkage, hot cracking and high internal stress during welding.
 
(4) High stomatal sensitivity.
 
Aluminum and alloy aluminum plate liquid molten pool can easily absorb hydrogen and other gases. A large amount of gas dissolved at high temperature can not be precipitated during cooling and solidification after welding, and pores will be formed when gathered in the weld. The moisture in the arc column atmosphere, the welding material and the moisture adsorbed by the oxide film on the surface of the base metal are all important sources of hydrogen in the weld.
